Edwige Tia is a PhD Candidate at the University of Guelph, in the Department of Food, Agriculture and Resource Economics (FARE). She holds an Undergraduate degree in Math-Economics, a Master of Arts in Economics, and a Masters of Science in Agricultural Economics + International Development. She has experience working for a USAID funded Water & Capacity Building project in West Africa. Under the supervision of Professor Brady Deaton, she examined the relationship between formal property rights and tenure security and empirically assessed the performance of farmland rental markets in rural Pakistan for her Master of Science degree.
She is currently working with Professor Brady Deaton on her dissertation, exploring issues related to land use, property values and land market distortions. She is also working as a Research Assistant on research investigating water sharing collaborations between municipalities and First Nations.
